Siemens Teal Park is a leading example of industrial-scale solar integration in the UK.
In 2025, Solar installer Your Eco was engaged to deliver a high-performance photovoltaic
solution for this advanced manufacturing site, supporting Siemens’ ambitious sustainability and carbon reduction goals. The project involved decommissioning a legacy system and designing a bespoke 1.07MW solar PV installation, incorporating Q Cells’ Q.TRON M-G2+ 440W modules and SolarEdge inverter technology. With an estimated annual generation of 1.06GWh, equivalent to offsetting 204.79 tonnes of CO₂ and planting over 9,400 trees, this initiative underscores both Siemens’ and Your Eco’s commitment to an energy-independent, low carbon future.
The Challenges
Delivering a system of this scale at Teal Park presented a unique set of technical and operational challenges. The existing roof infrastructure required detailed assessment to confirm its structural integrity, ensure optimal water drainage, and maintain robust weatherproofing throughout the installation. The site’s complex roof geometry and the presence of shading from adjacent buildings demanded a tailored design approach to maximise yield and system efficiency. During the project, our installation team encountered severe weather conditions, including high winds and storms, which impacted scheduling and necessitated dynamic risk management. Additionally, the removal of the pre-existing 564-module arrays had to be coordinated to minimise disruption to ongoing site operations. Close collaboration with Siemens’ facilities team and strict adherence to health and safety protocols were essential to maintaining project momentum and ensuring a safe, compliant delivery environment.
Our Solution
Your Eco’s approach combined precision engineering with agile project management to overcome these challenges. We began by safely decommissioning the legacy system, followed by the installation of Sunfixings mounting equipment built for both durability and ease of maintenance. The new array comprised 2,372 Q Cells Q.TRON M-G2+ 440W modules, paired with 10 SolarEdge SE90K inverters and 1,196 S1000 optimisers, achieving a total system size of 1,068.3kW. Advanced design software enabled us to optimise module placement, mitigate shading, and ensure compliance with Siemens’ rigorous technical standards. Despite adverse weather, our experienced site team maintained a strong safety record and delivered the DC installation in just nine weeks, with AC works progressing on schedule. The completed system delivers a 90% performance ratio and exceptional energy yield, positioning Siemens Teal Park as a benchmark for sustainable industrial energy in the UK.
