Your Eco achieves ERS Gold: a proud Armed Forces Covenant milestone

Yesterday brought a genuinely proud moment for all of us at Your Eco: we’ve been awarded Gold status in the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).

Gold is the highest level of recognition in the ERS, and it’s reserved for employers who go beyond warm words — actively supporting veterans, reservists and military families through the way they recruit, develop, and look after their people.

Why this matters to us

Your Eco is a veteran-led business, and our team includes a strong contingent of people with service backgrounds. We know first-hand what the Armed Forces community brings to the workplace: calm under pressure, planning discipline, teamwork, and a deep sense of responsibility.

So this isn’t a badge for the website. It’s recognition of something we’ve been building for years — a workplace where service experience is valued, and where people can thrive during and after their military careers.

One of only 162 employers across the UK

In the latest announcement, we’re proud to be one of only 162 employers across the UK to achieve ERS Gold.

That puts Your Eco in a small group of organisations setting the standard for what “forces-friendly” looks like — not as a policy document, but as a lived culture.

Thank you to the people who made this happen

Awards like this are never the work of one person, but there are a few thank-yous we want to make loud and clear.

  • To our whole team: thank you for building a culture that backs each other — on site, in the office, and in the moments that matter outside work too.

  • To the wider Armed Forces community: thank you for the example you set, and the support you give businesses like ours to do this properly.

  • To Richie Sixsmith: a special thank you for leading this from the front and driving the work needed to reach Gold.

  • To Wessex RFCA: thank you for your guidance and support throughout the process.

  • To the UK Ministry of Defence: thank you for the recognition, and for continuing to champion employers who step up.

What ERS Gold means in practice

For us, ERS Gold is a commitment to keep raising the bar — not just maintaining what we do today.

It means continuing to:

  • Create meaningful opportunities for veterans and service leavers

  • Support reservists and their training commitments

  • Recognise the realities for military families and respond with flexibility and respect

  • Build a workplace where service values translate into long-term careers

Looking ahead

We’re proud of this milestone — and we’re even more proud of the people behind it.

If you’re part of the Armed Forces community and you’re curious about working with (or alongside) a team that understands the job, the mindset, and the mission — we’d love to hear from you.
