As reported by TIME , #housebuilders will soon be mandated to install rooftop solar panels on new properties in England. This serves as a key move on Labour's push towards net-zero. The initiative aims to cut carbon emissions, slash electricity bills, and support the national goal of a fully #decarbonised electricity grid by 2030
As our CEO Nick Spicer states "innovations like building-integrated photovoltaics can even offset roofing costs, while solar energy offers a clear route to cutting carbon emissions and lowering energy bills over time. The plans will see 80% of new homes have panels equal to 40% of the buildings ground area, while 19% will have a smaller area, and 1% of homes will have no solar panels.
Such are in line with the governments target to decarbonise the electricity grid by 2030, expected to deliver up to £1,000 in annual energy savings for homeowners and contribute as much as 47GW of solar capacity.
