When Tech Round set out to discover how UK businesses really feel about AI in the workplace, they turned to leaders who are walking the talk—and we're proud to have been included in the conversation.

In their latest article, "OpenAI Reveals How People Are Using ChatGPT – And The Results May Surprise You," Tech Round explores the surprising reality of AI adoption across industries. The findings? 10% of the world's population now uses ChatGPT, with over 70% of usage being personal rather than professional. But whilst many organisations are still grappling with whether to embrace or block these tools, we've taken a different path.

Our co-founder Amanda Spicer shared Your Eco's approach alongside industry leaders from Softwire, Firefly Communications, The Remarkables, and BWS—explaining how we've developed a strategic, policy-driven framework that harnesses AI's power whilst protecting client confidentiality and maintaining the rigorous standards our solar installations demand.

Rather than banning AI outright or allowing unrestricted access, we've implemented clear guidelines centred around our Sintra platform—a trained LLM brain that ensures consistency with our ISO certifications and B Corp values. It's an approach rooted in our Kaizen principles: continuous improvement, structured protocols, and cohesive outcomes.

The article reveals a fascinating snapshot of where UK businesses stand on the AI frontier, and we're honoured to represent the renewable energy sector's thoughtful, responsible approach to this transformative technology.

Amanda states: “Our company policy doesn’t prohibit AI tools like ChatGPT, but we’ve established clear guidelines that prioritise our strategically implemented Sintra platform for all business-critical operations. We’ve developed comprehensive AI usage policies that require staff to use our trained LLM brain for tendering processes and technical documentation, ensuring consistency with our ISO certifications and B Corp standards."

She continues: “Our policy framework follows Kaizen principles, providing structured AI seats to team members with defined protocols for engagement, which drives cohesive outcomes whilst maintaining the technical accuracy essential for our solar energy installations. This policy-driven approach allows us to harness AI’s benefits responsibly whilst protecting client confidentiality and upholding the professional standards expected in the renewable energy sector.”
