On 24th September, Your Eco was delighted to return to the NEC Birmingham for Solar & Storage Live. Our CEO, Nick Spicer, joined Clare Bottle FCILT and the UK Warehousing Association on a panel to discuss “Future-proofing Through Rooftop Solar.”

The panel followed the recent launch of the UKWA Solar Toolkit at IMHX and provided an excellent opportunity to build on that momentum. Nick shared practical insights on how rooftop solar can help warehouse operators future-proof their businesses—supporting both energy independence and broader sustainability goals.

During the discussion, Nick highlighted how the Solar Toolkit can guide companies through the process of delivering solar projects on their rooftops, from feasibility to long-term performance. He emphasised the critical role of robust, data-driven decision making, explaining how half-hourly consumption data and advanced modelling tools—such as SolarEdge Designer—enable Your Eco to tailor solar systems to each site’s unique needs. This approach ensures clients gain clear visibility of self-consumption and the proportion of demand that can be met with on-site clean energy.

Nick also addressed the increasing importance of insurance and fire safety in solar project design, urging early engagement with insurers and stakeholders to ensure safer, more resilient installations.

It was a pleasure to reconnect with industry colleagues and see such enthusiasm for accelerating the transition to low-carbon warehousing. At Your Eco, we remain committed to helping businesses unlock energy and ESG benefits through better, safer solar solutions.
